Thanks for the encouragement and hints.
I layed up the coaming on Saturday and as I mentioned I layed down 4 layers of 6oz. glass, 1 layer of cotton fabric, and 3 more of the 6oz.
Originally I wondered if bias cut cotton would stretch around the 3 major compound curves in the coaming and found out it was just too tightly woven for than. I ended up cutting the cloth into 2" strips and layed them down overlapping each other.
After a day to cure it looks marvelous. The cloth is deep blue with 1/4" yellow squares surrounding a red dot. This pattern repeats every inch or so. The contrast with the luan deck of my Cirrus should be nice. I'm really excited to get it trimmed and mounted to see just how it looks on the finished deck.
