Thank you, Tom... this is what I was looking for. So there is 'traditional' and 'non-traditional' construction methods. Cool. I don't care anything about tradition just now. I want a cheap boat that performs well, and from what I understand, the SOF boats deliver.

The whole idea here is to get myself into a true sea kayak, as opposed to my recently completed CLC Mill Creek 13, and try my hand a some open water paddling. I suspect my heart is in the swamp, but I'd like to at least give the big chop a chance. If my circumstances were a little different, I'd be starting a stripper without hesitation just for the fun and beauty of it.
