: Looks too purdy to put way down at the foot end of your cockpit where no one
: can see it!
: I'd lay up some carbon fiber or fiberglass just on the rearward side of the
: arms, and possibly a layer on the foreward side. The rest looks to be
: sturdy enough, but I'd be leery of it breaking when you stomp hard,
: whether when pumping or eskimo-rolling. The rearward side (toward your
: feet) will be in tension when you pump, and that's where the cracking
: would start. Make sure to lay the cloth in the same direction as the arm,
: not bias cut, to take the load correctly.
Thanks Dean, You've shown interest in the project all along and even come up with your own design. I will follow your advice on the reinforcement. I'd like to see more people making their own footpumps. Maybe that will happen if I can get a really good test with a high GPM rate; that's the goal anyway. As always, thanks for the input.
PS: Let me know if you want to put construction drawings together. We could sell .PDF files off my site for $20... and split the take 50/50
