Hi Randy, thanks. That's my middle finger... it's the most-used tool in my shop
I like the idea of a toe control for rudders but I haven't tried it... Your feet would rest on footpegs and you would use your toe to make small corrections to the rudder control; right? Ideally the toe control would keep the rudder in a fixed position without having to keep your toe on it. I'll know if I like the concept after it's installed down into the cockpit.
In terms of strength: I use experience/intuition, then have a backup in case of failure. I learned from the last test how water can introduce quite a bit of force to the system... I was pushing a 3" column of water through a 3/4" valve - which created significant pressure/resistance against the teeter. This time I'm pushing a 2" column through the same valves and (from the bucket test) that feels about right. I wouldn't know which equations to run to figure it out scientifically.
