: IMy first home built kayak was a Cape Charles by Chris Kulczycki since then
: I've built a Panache,Gillmont and am starting a Merganser hybrid. After
: using the Cape Charles for years with a rudder I have decided it slows me
: down to much compared to the other boats. The problem is the tracting. It
: turns on a lean well but its not much fun to have to lean all the time
: well trying to go straight. I'm wondering if anyone has had the same
: problem and do you think it can be fixed with a keel added to the bottom?
Hey Joe,
Click on the link below for a pic of the fin that Dale Frolander added to his kayak to tighten up the tracking. From what he said, it did the job very well. If you have any questions about it, I'm sure he'd be glad to respond.
Hope this helps.
Happy Yakin'.
