I've got the regular CLC 17... it does tend to weathercock in a breeze. If I had it to do over I probably would put a skeg on mine. I don't like the mushy feet you get with footpedal-steering. There are a lot of skeg/rudder ideas out there. Search the message board and archives for an ingenious skeg design by Pete Roszyk. Then there are builders who have put small keels under their boats; experiment by simply hot-gluing styrofoam fins to the bottom and taking it for a paddle... I have a toe pedal design that could steer a rudder or adjust the height of a skeg for that matter. It just depends what you're into.
