CLC's Chesapeake 17LT is a very straight-tracking boat without any skeg or rudder. Like most kayaks, weathercocking can be reduced by shifing a a little weight towards the stern.

I'm glad I didn't put a skeg on my LT17. It simply doesn't need it in the lakes where I use it, even though some days are quite windy and the lakes have a several mile fetch. When I loan my boat to a beginner, they quickly learn that "every stroke is a correction stroke" to some small extent, and they're fine with no rudder.
