: This is more of a wood working question than a kayak building one.
: I bought a wobble dado blade from Harbor freight and finally need to use it.
: Here's my observations: It is difficult to accurately adjust the width of
: the cut.
: The blade is absolutely frightening to watch when the table saw is on.
: It's difficult to set up the distance from the guide.
: There is a slight curve at the back of the notch that's cut. This really
: doesn't bother me.
: The cut is good and clean.
: Anyone had experience with these wild blades? Should I go out and buy a real
: Dado setup?
: Looking for ideas...

I hear the Freud set that is $80-100 works pretty good. I wouldn't bother with a cheaper stacked dado set. I took the salesman's word at Woodcraft on an import set that they had on sale for $40-50. He claimed they used it at the store and it did a great job. I was suspicious, but he highly recommended it. It is horrible. If I hadn't moved to another state, had my tools in storage for almost a year before I used it and had the receipt I would insist they take it back. The cut is not acceptable for 2x4 construction. Not a single blade/chipper is the same diameter.
