If you have a dive shop nearby, get some Aquaseal Silicone grease. It's basically food grade silicone used to lubricate o-rings and the like. It comes in a little quarter sized snap top container. A little dab will do ya right. I've used the stuff for years with no problems. Salt water, fresh water, gear sitting wet for days, it just kept out the moisture and air. No oxidation, only when I forgot to renew after cleaning.
