Here is a close-up of a portion of the deck of my 17ft Sea Spirit I just finished. Look closely, and you can see where I used some wood filler I tinted and it didn't blend in. There are more places on the deck and hull that have some of these defects and others. I am not about to redo any of it. There is a possibility that while fixing it, it could become worse. I'll use this as a learning experience and try not to repeat it on my next boat. I'm not proud of these defects, and am somewhat self-conscious about them. But after paddling it for a while, those defects will blend in with the rest of the dings, scratches and scrapes that are bound to come along.
