Art had Michalangelo and kayaking has this jamoke. I can imagine a commercial firm trying to cut a deal with him. He'd probably demand that the manufacturer submit his name to the Vatican for canonization. Or better yet, how about a Nobel Prize for kayak design?
Now that I've got that off my chest I'm going into my unheated garage and slop some epoxy on some Home Depot plywood. Such is life.
