I'm probably not understanding what you are saying, but if you have the hull filleted then the keel and chine joints, at least on the inside, should be completely filled with the fillet, awaiting the application of the interior fiberglass. After I fiberglass the inside I turn the hull over and do the outside. On the outside I usually round the edges and then fill any small cracks or holes with an appropriately colored mixture of epoxy, wood flour, flour, cabosil, phenolic microballons...whatever it takes to get an even color. Some people use other kinds of fillers, such as Durhams Rock Hard Water Putty. With regards to spills and smudges on the hull...I scrape and sand them smooth then apply a precoat of epoxy on the surface being prepared for fiberglass. I do not apply a precoat on the wood before applying the fillets...so the actual fill coat helps even the color and texture out. The next day I apply the fiberglass. Everyone has their own favorite method, and all methods are not set in stone. I'm pretty flexible in what I'm doing since I mostly do what works for me.
