: Now that the hull is filleted, I’m waiting for warmer temps to do the
: glassing. I have several questions.
: There are some epoxy spills and smudges on the hull. How can I minimize their
: appearance after the hull is glassed?
: Filler is needed in chine and keel joints. Instructions suggest coloured
: epoxy using cabosil and wood flour. Can I substitute mahogany coloured
: wood filler if a test piece looks OK?
: How much should chines be rounded? Maybe leave half the Okuome thickness?
: I’m amazed how much useful info the Forum has offered me in the two months
: I’ve been reading it. Thanks to all, especially Nick.
: Rick……
I use epoxy with wood flour on the chines, they may take alot of abuse and use the Durham's on small stuff. The stain in the Durham's may make more work than the epoxy.
I rounded the chines to 1/4"r, I thick it made the Artic Tern faster in the surf Glasssing went fine.
The epoxy drips may show for a time but you may want to test a small scrap first.
