Shawn:

:I like the looks. How deep will it be from keel behind cockpit to the aft
: deck?

It is 7 inches. Which on me is one fistmele plus 1 inch. I would like to get back that inch by recessing the back of the coaming. Then the back of the coaming should end up about where it would be for a SOF boat. I added the inch of deckheight because I'm fighting the footroom issue. So, it's way lower than my LT17, lower than most commercial boats, but higher than a SOF boat. Forward, I plan on a laminated masik at the height that it would be in a Greenland SOF.

:there will likely be something you want to change), saw the deck off, change
: to suit, and build a strip deck.

Hmmm. I figured that the changes were more likely to be in the hull rather than the deck. What do you figure that the time savings would be cheap/dirty vs. strip, knowing that I will build a coaming and hatches either way?

:glass the inside and outside within days of each other so you don't
:have "curl" or "creep"!

I like it. Then I won't have to worry about chemical vs mechanical boad either.

:I used a 3/4" wide bevel strip on my Cormorant...

Are you saying that the first strip at the gun'l is the bevel and then the deck goes across flat? So a builder would lower the side panel a little so that the deck height is maintained?

Thanks,

Dave
