In Response To: S&G: What kind of saw is best for cutting hatches? (Taylor Warren)
I started cutting my hatches with a jig saw blade held in a vice grip. It was fairly accurate but seemed to take forever. I switched mid-hatch to a jig saw. Much quicker and cleaner, but also more susceptible to error. There are a few waves, but the hatches and opening are mirror cuts, so no big deal.
Either way will work, but make sure to use a very thin blade. Otherwise the resulting gap will be larger than necessary.
