I started cutting my hatches with a jig saw blade held in a vice grip. It was fairly accurate but seemed to take forever. I switched mid-hatch to a jig saw. Much quicker and cleaner, but also more susceptible to error. There are a few waves,but the hatches and opening are mirror cuts, so no big deal.

Either way will work, but make sure to use a very thin blade. Otherwise the resulting gap will be larger than necessary.
