: Just curious as to what types of hand saws are preferred for cutting hatch
: openings.

I prefer an electric jig saw with a fine toothed metal cutting blade. I used a Vermont American 21 tooth blade.

For a hand saw I use a hacksaw blade handle ... the kind where you just slip the blade into the handle and tighten a bolt to hold it securely in place ... and a Mikita #72 jig saw blade. I think you'll find this set up much easier to use with the handle rather than vice grips.
