Hi Jim

We made like a straight shot to a bridge which was a little over 2 miles. The wind was quartering off our left front going and off our right rear coming back. Both the Cirrus and my wife's SLT wanted to point to the wind, more so with the SLT, probably because it is lighter and shorter. We held our aleut paddles off center with more shaft on the windward side to compensate for the heading up tendency. The waves pushed more than the wind on the rear to swing us slightly also (especially when coming off the rear quarter).

I would expect some exciting paddling with larger waves and wind off the rear. We made the trip back in less than half the time it took to go, and I could almost surf some of the larger waves, that was fun. Large boat wakes were not a problem, but confused waves were interesting.

Took some getting used to going cross wind, as the square sides of the Cirrus reacted to the waves, but only took a few minutes to get the feel of it.
