I am now starting the final sanding of the epoxy on the hull/deck of my guillemot. I have a couple of dumb questions for the all knowing kayak builders.
1. If i wet down the hull with water will that give me an indication of how the epoxy and/or varnish will hide the sanding scratches? I have areas that are matte after sanding with 100 grit, which dont wet out clear with water.
2. How does one tell when you have sanded into the glass (I warned you about dumb questions)? I have some areas that have had a lot of sanding (i think that I must be into the glass in some of these areas) which look just like the areas that have barely been touched with sandpaper.
Thanks,
JJ
