Lindsay - I would echo Elliot's suggestion on purchasing a ROS. For all the tools that I have acquired over the years, the recent purchase of a ROS was imperative for the construction of my Guillemor Double Yak (90% done). I can't believe how good it works! If you think you've had a lot of sanding on your hull now, wait until you start to sand out your epoxy that's 20 times harder. Get yourself an early birthday present, you'll be glad you did!
