Only it looks like this right now. It’s a Waters Dancing Solace 16XL kit. I figured I’d better go with a kit my first time around. The WD kits are very complete. Mine came with large precut hatches and 3 permanent bulkheads (incase I want to install a day hatch), all sorts of deck riggings including a paddle park, a nice seat, Zspar 2015 varnish, carbon powder for the hull, and a 122 page manual. US retail is about $795. The people at WD were kind enough to deduct the price of the epoxy, as I wanted to use Raka instead of West System. I also ordered a Grey Owl Tempest paddle (with carbon ferrule), paddle float, bilge pump, spray skirt, and the optional day hatch cover. All together the kit, epoxy and accessories came in at right around $1,000 including postage. Not bad for a top quality kayak.

The boxes are sitting on my 2'x16' table which is the first thing I've build since high school wood shop (thanks for your input everyone!). It’s funny, but I felt a real sense of achievement just building this rudimentary table. I can’t wait to see how it feels paddling a 16 foot long kayak that was built with my own two hands! These next few weeks are going to be a whole lot of fun. I’ll keep you guys posted on the progress and will most likely have lots of questions for you as well.
