ROS's are great for getting close to where you need to be, but you should then use a fairing board to go over the whole surface. Done right, this will EASILY fair the hull/deck & get rid of the swirls. Luckily, my neighbor is an autobody mechanic & leant me his (along with a crash course in it's use). Fairing was the most scary part of finishing the boat I anticipated! As luck had it, it was much easier than feared using the board!

: I'm down to 100 gritt on my semi final hull hand sand and can still see some
: orbital sander swirls , will these show through the glass or must I get
: every one out ?? At the moment I'm working my way along one side of the
: hull changing paper often and when the blood refuses to flow in one arm I
