I just finished the last piece on an inlay in my deck and am ready to get to work sanding and finishing my guillemot single (my first!). I need to troll the wisdom of the builders out there on the following points before I start:
1. In my artistic zeal, I have quite a few spots that need filling. What's everyone's favorite recipe for filling gaps/ cracks? Do you use cab-o-sil, quartz microspheres, wood flour, wood glue, epoxy? My deck is a mix of redwood and light western cedar. I have wood flour from each.
2. I'm going to veneer some work on the deck. From what I can gather, this is best done with epoxy after the sealer coat has partially cured. I could use a good brush-up on procedure if anyone has a good method.
3. Any tricks on sanding the coaming? I thought a webbing strap with sandpaper glued to it might work. Any ideas?
Thanks for all the advice along the way. Any advice now would definitely help!
Mike
