Dan and Robert:
Thanks for clarifying the issue.
My deck has a series of different veneers and I had purchased some furniture crayons with the idea of filling the holes with the appropriate crayon prior to epoxying. The crayons are not as handy as I had hoped.
So now I am running a couple of tests blending epoxy with varying amounts of cabosil, wood dust and filleting blend. I have drilled holes in a scrap piece of wood upon which I have glued scraps of the veneer. Then with a syringe I am inserting a couple of drops into each of the holes. Before hardening I will scrape off and then glass over. Hopfully I will come up with a epoxy/filler combination that works.
My backup plan had been to just glass over without filling but I think I will toss out that option.
BTW I am building a Cirrus.
