But, the shop will serve as a general work area for now, not a dedicated "yak palace". I will probably only work on kayaks in the summer out there. I cant justify heating a garage, while I have a heated basement shop. I don't usually work on boats in warmer weather...I'd rather paddle!! So, for now, the garage shop will probably see cars and other projects. Not to say that I won't eventually make a full shop there, my kids and their cars will move away and , then, it's a wood shop! Just gotta bide my time..

PGJ, On the Mohawk River, about 10 miles from me, there are three concrete boat hulls, beached, full of weeds and trees. The lock attendant says that they saw regular use hauling coal to a near by power plant. When the plant closed, about 20 years ago, the boats/barges? were abandoned. Concrete floats!!Pretty cool!
