I've never had any blush with RAKA's slow hardener, just the hard. Don't remember any when I combined them, but it's been awhile since I did that.
I sure understand not wanting to be rushed. It was great to glass feeling like we had all the time in the world. On fill coats I can see the advantage of using faster hardener though. Less time to fuss over it looking for drips.
Saying that wetting out the glass is painstaking is quite an understatement. A quarter of the way through that second layer of glass we were weary of it. It's like having a baby though. Once labor starts, there's no backing out until it's over. :-) But boy, is glassing labor intensive! I'd hate to do a 16 foot boat alone. What a lot of work.

: Patsy - Congrtulations on your first epoxy. The imtimidation of your first
: time is always worse than the actual process. Using slow hardeners, you
: might have to wait 12 - 24 hours for it to set up depending on
: temperature. But get followup coats on before fully hardening or you will
: have to lightly sand to remove the blush that may form from curing. If you
: continue this process you won't have to sand until the end. I favor slow
: hardeners as I'm a novice builder for the sheer fact that I never wan't to
: be rushed at this stage of the project. Fill coats are much easier though
: as opposed to wetting out glass which is painstakingly slow and
: deliberate. You might give the fast hardener a shot, just work in small
: batches starting from one end and going to the other and you should be
: able to keep up to the epoxy before it kicks.
: Good luck with the fill coats - DAVE
