It worked out pretty good. But it was not a trouble-free process.

- Varying the pressure on the clamps caused the spacing between the blades to change.
- An error in the cut produced two errors.
- If the setup was not perpendicular to the surface, the cut width changed.
- Sometimes little splinters of wood would break off and need to be glued back in place.

I ended up setting the gap between the blades a little narrow and then going back with a 1/8" thick metal file and cleaning up the slot. A lot of the defects were on the surface and have disappeared as sanding has progressed.

All in all, I'm pleased and probably would use the same technique again. I had considered making a router template (there are 3 shapes, each repeated 4 times), but I figured that was more work and this was good enough.
