I'm not sure what the Cirrius instructions call for, but yes you should be conserned if you have an edge over which the FG must 'jump'.

On my kayak, I had a 'terrible' miss alignment. When I build the Hull, one of the stations I cut to a width of 5.50 instead of 5.05 (or somthing like that), anyways I was off by an inch. Then I fiberglassed the inside of the deck 2mths after I fiberglassed the outside... Yup, it expanded by about 2 or 3 inches.

To fix it, what I did was the strapping tape method, as described in Nick's book. Basically you use Fiber tape to force the deck and hull into alignment, then you can tape the inside seam of the kayak together with fiberglass tape/epoxy.

For me this required 2 or 3 reties with the Fibertape forced join. I forced the width of the Hull out to match the deck, which really cranked up the rocker. Most of this was over come when the deck was pushed back to the hull, but I had a 1/4 gap in spots. I 'trimmed' the shear line on the hull to get a good fit.

I had to do this twice.

In the end it fits well.
