: Looks nice, very nice.
: I am building a double and can hardly wait to get it finished.
: What are the "Joe's softeyes" you refer to?
: Any suggestions as to seating and footbraces?
: Also, looking for a rudder for the double.
: Thanks
: Have you done a test drive yet?

Joe,

Thanks. Joe Greenley of Redfish Kayaks uses soft padeyes for his deck bungees. Rather than plastic eyelets (or other options), he cuts slots in the deck and uses a soft loop of 3/4" nylon webbing. Check the archive, there are at least two builders that have web pages showing how they used this method. As to seating, I bought Joe's seats for both of my kayaks. They are very comfortable. I am planning to build a Pygmy Osprey triple next, and I will probably try to recreate his seats for that boat. Both my boats have Yakima footbraces, the Panache is set up with the optional sliders if I want to add a rudder at some point. I have absolutely no experience with rudders, but I hear the Feathercraft Rudder system is good and will probably use that on the triple. And finally, no, the King has not gotten wet yet. I plan to go out this evening for the first time.
