Hi Patsy,

'waves' are common when you are bending the cloth. usually you can get all of these removed when doing the outside of the hull by, using a paint brush to smooth down the cloth prior to putting the epoxy on. Then being gentle with the squeege/brush when applying the epoxy.

Trying to lay the cloth down so that the fibers run as far from parallel to the keel helps alot, this is geting it closer to running on the bias. If you have wide cloth (60inches) you can get a bit of this bias effect.

Now for the 'bummer' the waves you experineced, I had more trouble with on the inside of the hull. You should ensure you understand the instructions in you manual for doing the inside of the hull, and post questions. I seem to recall you were considering only doing a 'football' area on the bottom of the canoe, that should prevent you from having trouble.

Personally I'd have to do the entire interior of the canoe.
