I think it's a neat idea. I have a hard time imagining that you would get enough people in one metropolitan area willing to pay for that space to cover your costs. With HVAC for such a space, not to mention the lease, your costs would end up being pretty high. I hate to be a wet blanket, but I think the math just doesn't work.

If you widened your base of customers to include all woodworkers, then you might have something. There are already a few such woodworking clubs in various metropolitan areas. But they provide stationary power tools too. I know that there were two woodworkers clubs in the DC area, but that seemed to be more than the market could handle, so one closed and now there is just one. But it has been around for several years. They seem to be doing well enough to survive. Members pay monthly dues and they get storage space and shop time. They sell tools and supplies on the side to help the bottom line.
