: I was at a sporting good store today, and i totally forgot that one could get
: a decent plastic boat for 700 bux the price of a kit. Now it has me
: wondering if i should just buy a plastic boat since it will last longer
: and stand up better in rivers. however if it spossible to sell the wood
: boat and get a good amount or even more, than i wouldn't feel so bad.
It is possible to sell a boat for what you paid for the kit, but that doesn't include your time. If you are considering building a boat just so you have a kayak, then you should buy the plastic one. If you want to build the kayak for the experience of building a boat, then buying a plastic one won't be half as much fun.
