You'll proably hear it 1000 times here: "...no one ELSE will ever notice..." I had a hard time beleiving that at first, but after 4 years or so here's my experience:

I have the boat up on my rack and pull in someplace to get a cup of coffee (or to launch the boat). Within minutes there is a crowd going oooh aaaah. Lots of questions ("did YOU make that?...). I know every thing that isn't 100% peerfect, and feel a bit guilty taking praise (or whatever it is). A lot less so than at first. I have a boat I love, it is a dream to paddle, and it is, after all, a boat, not a museum peice or an entry in a master wood project contest.

Everything I worried about during the building turned out to be a non-problem. Odds are quite good your experience will be very similar to mine. Enjoy the process, but most of all enjoy your boat. You will.
