When I was building my kayak I started the stitching at the bow and worked back towards the stern and found that the panels did not line up at the stern. When I tried to make them match up the keel took a twist. I struggled over what to do and I ended up making the keel line straight and sanding the panels to match each other. It sounds like you did what I did. Good luck with everything else. What a learning experience.
