: Hello all,
: I am about to join the deck to the hull but I see that the two parts have
: REALLY shifted since I pulled them off the forms. The hull is about an
: inch narrower than the deck at the cockpit but a little wider at the
: stern. Is this normal or is the project in trouble? I have thought of
: using sticks wedged in the hull to make it wider and trying to use clamps
: or even sanding the ends to make the bow and stern even. How common is
: this. I'm a little worried I will not be able to join the boat together.
: Any ideas?
we used lots of sticks, lots of straping tape. If it has been some time since you glased, take it a little at a time so the stress of bending can release. The negitive of composites is they can creap under load so use it to your advantage, just make sure that jet engine mount on the aft deck is strong.:)
