I need them because my deck is so darned high! No offense to Nick, I made the boat with a higher foredeck because I thought I needed the leg room. Silly me; my mistake, not his. I think it's 13" or 14" in foredeck height.

I don't have any knee hooks presently in my Cormorant, and I can roll it six ways to Sunday. The Cormorant is less than 10" in foredeck height, and I brace my knees between the deck and hull -- and behind the coaming recess.

There may be a teensy knee hook in the Cormorant, but more likely, I'll just smooth out the deck recess area with a bit of minicell. The Cormorant with its custom lowered deck simply fits my body better, and additional foam and hooks aren't necessary. *sigh* I should have left the Guillemot as drawn. That's why Nick has a warning in the back of his book! On the bright side, I'm going to do a chop job on the coaming and recess it into the deck like I did the Cormorant. It'll fit a lot better then.
