I used something from HD called "Marine & Automotive EPDM Rubber Weatherseal" on my Coho hatches. It is 5/16 thick, 19/32 wide peel and stick. It is an extruded shape which has 4 grooves on the top. So far, after only one evening of roll practice, it seems to be working fine. It was certainly cheap, easy, and readily available.
