: I am just starting to strip the deck of my CA Double. Stapleless...
: I couldn't figure a way to keep the first strip in place(a lot of curve at
: the bow and I prefer to not use cheaters) so I hot-melted the heck out of
: it. Now I am beginning to worry about how much havoc I will cause when it
: comes time to separate.
: Do I need to worry, or just forge ahead as if I had a lick of sense.

You should deal with the potential difficult removal issue now.
I hope you're using western red cedar. WRC will release from hot glue
easily. Other woods, not so well, but okay.
The strip you're talking about, I assume is on the sheer line.
If so add a couple more strips on each side of the deck. This will freeze
the shape of the sheer line into the strips.
Then go to the stations where you've plastered the hot glue all over the place
and knock the stations out of the hull. Get a big heavy mallet and a crow bar.
Lay the bar on the stem side of the station on the deck centerline and whack
it hard toward the cockpit.
Hot glue the stations back in the hull and tack the deck back in place with just a little
hot glue.
All the best,
