: what is the best way to put a mounting hole in the loops? I question drilling
: might unravel the webbing, being poly I thought about a hot nail or
: soldering iron to put a hole in the mount. any suggestions Will

I had backing blocks in my Walrus and drilled pilot holes, then used screws ( #12 x 1 1/2" ) and just screwed down through the webbing. If you are bolting, Melting through would probably be best. Melting will keep it from unraveling.
