Good day David,

The problem with PVC is that it tends to flex, but for a short boat like the Little Auk it shouldn't be too bad since you're not using much length. I have not used it, but have seen pics of people who used U-bolts and wood blocks to attach them to the pipe. You might want to try metal pipe instead.

Of course if you do use PVC, maybe you could get another pipe with inner diameter equal to outer diameter of your strongback pipe, and glue it in place at the front and back of each station mold. Just a thought.
