I'm a Right Coaster (Virginia), so I used Cypress. I could have also used Atlantic White Cedar. Spruce and Pine also work. But, none of those will give you a creamy white appearance, just a "light" appearance. The epoxy and varnish will impart an amber tone to it, so I'm not sure how you'd end up with a creamy white unless you can find an epoxy and varnish that won't give it the amber affect.

I'm still working on my first baot, though, so others may know better than I.
