Hi Joel. I get my hard-to-find stuff at Compton Lumber in downtown Seattle (1st Ave SW I think). Their prices aren't the lowest but the selection is good. I'm pretty sure they have Alaska Yellow Cedar. I used Sitka Spruce (from Compton) for my accents; it is light in color. Sitka Spruce is indigenous to Washington State and the coastal rainforests of the Pacific Northwest. It's also known as "Aircraft Spruce" because the best quality boards have/had unsurpassed grain structure and strength/weight attributes suitable for early airplanes. Here's a shot of [me and] a Sitka Spruce out on the Peninsula. Alaska Yellow Cedar is also native to Washington State but (to my knowledge) only grows at the higher elevations.
At any rate, good luck to you. Where are you located? I'm in Bothell.
