I just checked with Issaquah Cedar. They have Alaskan Yellow cedar 2x2s for .59/liniar foot. Each can be resawn on a tablesaw into at least eight 3/4" strips. So, a 15' 2x2 would yield 120 linear feet of fine, tight-grain, light color accent strips for a whopping $9. Sweet.
