I found so many sights that I couldn't list them all, look under native american, northwestern art, I found more than I could use.
However in the end I used a "Inuit indain" style pattern... in some thing that wasn't actually from the culture, I didn't want to put something "to spiritual" fot the locals, and have them sink me for it. ( I was in Alaska then.) And you can do the print, copy onto rice paper thing. I used ink directly onto the wood and glassed over it, then painted some words on the back, over the glass but then added another layer of glass to keep it from rubbing off.
