some one recommeded using an eraser... I've yet to try. I had the same problem. I used vineger and elbow grease (with an old sock as a cloth) I found it was the elbow grease that worked. I got all the tape off my hull in about 5 hours. I had left the tape on for several months.... ugh. Based on the way it rolled off, I suspect the eraser trick would have worked will. Unfortunatly I read it a day or two after I was done.

the packing tape left very little residue. When it did it was easy to get off. Of course I only left it on for two days.
