Your point is well taken.
Over the years, as my building skills improved, along with the number of boats
completed, I found sort of a comfort zone. With woodstrip kayaks, I tried to
do a good job, but was not concerned about perfection. There is no way I could,
or would, achieve the near perfection of the boats I see posted on this sight.
Today, I build SOF and am even less concerned about the "finish". Instead,
I rather enjoy having a "work-boat" mentality when building.
The goal of "perfection" is reserved for how well they perform. And believe me,
I've got a long way to go. And that's a good thing.
