: I am considering building my first wood kayak. I live in Washington state.
: There is a kayak kit manufacturer called pygmy boats here in western
: Washington. There price is good and there boats look good in the add. Does
: anyone have any experience with them or there boats? I suppose like many
: other non carpenters the strip method is a bit intimadating. I really like
: the way they look, but I don't have anyone to help so I stand to make a
: ton of mistakes. Some of you folks that have been where I am might have
: alot of good input for my research. Any advice or suggestions would be
: greatly appreciated.
I've had occassion to paddle a Coho and a Goldeneye. No complaints. I liked the Coho better, though. Both builders were very pleased with the company. But if you really like the strippers, go ahead and give it a try. I don't want word to get around, but they're not all that hard to build. They just take a little more patience.
