: Hello everyone,
: In Nick's book he says "now cut some glass cloth tape for the interior
: seam"...I'm assuming he means just use the glass cloth you've been
: using for the rest of the boat and saturate it in resin. Or is there some
: separate kind of glass cloth "tape"?

Right on both counts. It's been a while since I read Nick's book so I'm not certain which he may be refering to.
Glass tape comes in several widths and all that I have seen comes with a seam on one edge. This seam either has to be cut off before using, or scraped/sanded off later, when the resin is curing. Otherwise you will have a lump all down the seam.
By cutting your own tape from the scraps of cloth you will not have this lip/seam to deal with. However, you will have some raveling of the edges and little strings along the edge.
Either way, you will have something to play with while taping. I prefer cutting my own from the scrap, sticking the little strings down and sanding later. But, you can also cut on the bias and it conforms to about any radius.
I may be wrong, but it seems that I recall RAKA offering a seamless tape, but I don't recall for sure. You might go to their site and check, or Call Larry Steeves @ RAKA and see what he has.
