I was thinking of doing it the way Nick illustrates in the book with rolling 1/2 the interior length.

If you cut it into shorter lengths as Rhed notes it will work using cut cloth. On the inner seam, the little edge lump is no problem at all, it was not much of a problem on the exterior seem either....I just hate those little strings.
