: What a wealth of information here on this BB. Like a number of others, I am
: interested in building my first kayak. After reading all of your posts and
: searching the archives I think that I've narrowed it down to these two
: models. Anyone have experience with both of these boats ? Anyone built and
: paddled the WD Anuri ? Thanks for your input.

Hello, Dan. Jay of Savannah, GA. I built an Arctic Tern 14. The kit is well engineered, and as long as you read, read, read the directions, you'll be okay. I would seriously suggest you try to paddle one of these boats before you build. I bought the 14' thinking I couldn't easily build a 17' boat in a 18' x 12' room. Well, the boat is too small for me for all-round use (I'm 180 lbs.) but it makes a really good kick-around boat for really tight marshes. 3-foot following seas will be a good challenge, just be prepared to swim. My next project will be a 17' s&g or a hybrid. If you're w/in a couple hours drive of Savannah, please feel free to drive up and paddle my AT. The experience is worth the drive.
