I can't tell you specifically anything about your tool, but I can tell you that when you are getting the "snipe" on the last inch or so it is usually because the infeed and outfeed table are not in alignment. Another possibility is that feather boards are not properly installed which can cause a kick when the board leaves one of the feather boards. Actually I usually use only one when I use one, but I am very aware of the kicking problem when the board runs out if you don't pull it straight out. A featherboard installed on each side of the cutting device may help. One interesting thought of mine is that it seems most people don't know how to properly use featherboards. I've been using them for over 45 years...long before they begain showing them in catalogs. The catalog pictures show them installed, cut on an angle, with all fingers touching the board. What we always did was to take a piece of one by material, run a bunch of kerfs about 1/8 to 1/4" apart....then install the featherboard so one edge would press against the board with the remaining "strips" acting like progressive springs. This holds the board firmly against the fence allowing no chatter or movement. Just my opinion. Makes one wonder how one old man can be right when all the catalog guys show it their way. I can only assume they are proficient with a word processor...not woodworking tools. Shucks...kick that soap box away from that guy....
